Andaman Bliss - Where nature meets Tranquility.
India’s tropical paradise is an island group, called the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The
flora and fauna of Andamans are very rare and visitors are left amazed due to its magical
ambience of turquoise water, colorful marine life and mysterious jungles. Apart from its

Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India consisting of a total of 572 islands.
While most of the islands are occupied, some remain uninhabited. It comprises two island
groups - the Andaman Islands and Nicobar Islands, separated by the 150km wide Ten
Degree Channel. All of this is a submerged extension of the Arakan mountains, which lay
hidden underwater. The best season to visit the island group is from October to May. This is
when the temperature is pleasant and ranges from 23° C to 35° C. If you want to absorb the
local culture, watch the tribal dance, magic shows and art forms. Try to visit during the
Annual Island Tourism Festival, which is a 10-day carnival that happens in January.
There is so much to see and experience in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There are several
picturesque and popular islands near Port Blair and yet, few can match the soothing charm
of Neil Island. Tourists prefer this island for its stunning biodiversity, white sandy beaches,
pretty coral reefs and its tropical woodlands.
‘History is to Ross Island, what peace is to Neil Island’. This Island was named after Daniel
Ross who was a British Marine Surveyor, and is also known as “Paris of the East”. A tour on
this Island takes you down the road of nostalgia. Next, Elephant Beach is one of the
attractions located on Havelock Island. It is famous for underwater marine sports among its
brightly colored coral reefs. It takes around twenty minutes to reach the beach on a ferry.
Many visit Andaman for the sheer delight of water sports. Havelock Island and Neil Island
are specifically flocked by scuba-diving enthusiasts. Once you are inside the water, the
body weight fades away and yourself in a whole new world as different species of fish swim
by. North Bay and Elephant Beach, are the only two places where you will be able to sea-
walk in Andaman.
As for enjoying water activities like Snorkeling, the time from November to May is best
suited for snorkeling in Andaman. The temperature during this time ranges from 20 to 30°C
which is ideal for water sports as well as for sightseeing. Enjoy a snorkeling experience at
these five places in Andaman - the Elephant Beach, Neil Island, North Bay Island, Red Skin
Island and South Button.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands is also one of the best trekking destinations in India. Amongst
the varied trekking trails and destinations that Andaman offers, the Baratang Islands is of
utmost importance. It is known for its limestone caves that are simply eye-catching and can
be reached only by crossing a thick mangrove forest. The major trekking routes include
Mount Harriet to Madhuban; Chidia Tapu to Kala Pahad; Havelock to Elephant Beach; and
Diglipur Island to Raman Caves and Saddle Peak. All these major trails promise a wonderful
and unforgettable trekking experience.
One recreational activity not to miss during a visit to Andaman Island is Bird Watching.
Mount Harriet National Park is known as the tropical evergreen forest in Port Blair which was
originally a reserve. It is said that Andaman Island is home to 270 species of birds including
migratory and endemic birds. Every year many species of birds migrate to these enchanted
islands and travelers can enjoy bird photography which in itself is a soulful experience.
